Almost a month after Kenya sent its troops over the border into Somalia, there is a growing sense of unease about whether the country is ready for the consequences of a war with the Islamist group al- Shabaab. <br /><br />The Kenyan public seems to be behind the military operation, but after a spate of grenade attacks and raids, people are beginning to question whether the security forces can protect the home-front.<br /><br />And there is mounting pressure on Kenya's own large population of Somalis.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Peter Greste reports from Nairobi.

Originally published on March 13, 2014<br /><br />Kenyan authorities are searching for three men who carjacked a relative of Kenya's president Tuesday night.<br /> <br />Jean Muhoho, an aunt of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, was carjacked Tuesday (March 12) night after running into traffic at a roundabout on the Uhuru Highway.<br /><br />Three gunmen reportedly carjacked the vehicle as it was stuck in traffic.<br /><br />The gunmen took control of the vehicle and drove away with Muhoho and a male friend still in the car.<br /><br />The carjackers then drove their captives around Nairobi for over two hours, during which time the carjackers stole cash, an ATM card, a driver's license, the woman's shoes and a mobile phone. <br /><br />Mrs. Muhoho and companion were finally forced out of the car near the International School located in the Gigiri area.<br /> <br />Both victims were reportedly traumatized, but unharmed. <br /><br />Kenya has vowed to step up policing after several high-profile robberies and crimes, including the takeover of the upscale Westgate Mall by suspected Islamic terrorists in September 2013.
