Increasing numbers of drug users in Kenya are becoming infected with HIV. To help combat the growing problem, officials are planning a needle exchange programme involving the distribution of about eight million new syringes.<br /><br />But the idea has not been welcomed by some.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Nazanine Moshiri reports from Mombasa.

The number of people living with HIV in Kenya is decreasing, but there is still a lot of stigma surrounding the disease. Two women in Nairobi who were infected with HIV at birth are working to change the public's perception of the disease.
Kibera slum on the outskirts of Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, is one of the largest in Africa, but it remains out of bounds for most of the world.<br /><br />It is also one of the continent's most dangerous slums and there are no maps of the area, which makes it easy to get lost in the maze of winding alleyways.<br /><br />But young people in Kibera are now taking it upon themselves to map their home. They have created the first free and openly available digital map.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Catherine Soi reports.
