A British charity is giving ballet lessons to children living in one of Africa's largest slums, in an initiative to help keep them off the rough streets.<br /><br />25 children in the slum of Kibera, based in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, have been staying after school for the past year to learn the basics of ballet.<br /><br />According to one student, the activity gives her the chance to express herself artistically, and become more sharp in class. It also gives her a chance to just have fun, something many children in slums lack.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Catherine Soi reports from Nairobi, Kenya.

Kenyan police are being accused of torturing and raping refugees from the Somali community, allegations put forward by Human Rights Watch. The group released a report saying the abuses took place between November 2012 and January this year. The crackdown began after a series of bomb blasts in Nairobi.
