Ugandan doctor with ebola being treated in Germany
A man from Africa suffering from the ebola virus has arrived in the German city of Frankfurt for treatment.<br /><br />The patient is a Ugandan doctor who was working for an Italian charity in Sierra Leone.<br /><br />This is the second person with ebola to be treated in Germany.<br /><br />The health minister in the state of Hesse, Stefan Gruettner, said: “The Italian NGO asked the World Health Organisation if there was a possibility for the patient to have treatment in Germany. The Bureau of Foreign Affairs in Germany asked us if we have a possibility and we said yes.”<br /><br />More than 3,300 ebola deaths have now been reported in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal.<br /><br />It is a race against time to try to contain the disease, with charities helping to set up specialised treatment centres.
