China's President Xi arrives in Tanzania
(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Tanzania's commercial capital on Sunday (March 24), for his first state visit to Africa, where he signed trade agreements and held meetings with Tanzanian officials, state media reported.<br/> <br />Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan were received at the airport by their counterparts Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and his wife Salma Kikwete, Chinese state television CCTV said.<br/> <br />CCTV also said that both Chinese and Tanzanian delegations held a meeting to enhance bilateral relations and boost economic ties. Xi signed more than a dozen trade and cooperation deals with the Tanzanian government.<br/> <br />The agreements included plans to co-develop a new port and industrial zone complex, a concessional loan for communications infrastructure and an interest-free loan to the Tanzanian government.<br/> <br />No details were given on the size of the loans or the monetary value of the projects.
